Chennai: In light of persistent heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu, schools and colleges in eight districts and schools in an additional 16 districts will remain closed today (Dec. 13), as announced by district collectors.

Holidays for Schools and Colleges:

Thanjavur
Tirunelveli
Tiruchirappalli
Ariyalur
Perambalur

Holidays Only for Schools:
Madurai
Dindigul
Sivagangai
Virudhunagar
Ramanathapuram
Theni
Karur
Cuddalore
Pudukkottai
Mayiladuthurai
Salem
Dharmapuri
Tiruvarur
Namakkal
Nagapattinam
Tiruppur
Additionally, schools in Puducherry and Karaikal have also been declared closed due to the adverse weather conditions.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
