Dharamsala (HP): In a significant outreach initiative, Dehra police district of Himachal Pradesh has launched a comprehensive awareness and career guidance campaign under the banner of 'Law School' and 'Explore Your Future' initiatives.

The initiatives are aimed at educating school and college students as well as local communities about crucial legal and social issues and also providing career counselling for the youth. The initiative will also engage gram panchayats and mahila mandals to build an informed and responsible society, officials said on Friday.

The campaign is designed to raise awareness on topics such as the Indian legal system, traffic regulations, drug abuse prevention and cyber fraud, said Dehra Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayank Chaudhary in a statement issued here on Friday.

Further expanding the scope of this campaign, the police have also launched a complementary initiative titled 'Explore Your Future', which focuses on providing free career counselling and guidance to students and youths across the region.

The counselling will be conducted by police officers themselves, marking a novel approach where law enforcement not only ensures safety but also supports the career aspirations of the younger generation.

Students and youths interested in availing of this opportunity can directly approach the SP, Deputy Superintendent of Police (SDPO) or their local police station in-charge for guidance and counselling sessions, the statement added.
