Chennai: IIT Madras has introduced four new postgraduate programmes, including MA and M.Tech courses, aimed at addressing emerging challenges in technology and industry.

The newly launched programmes include an MA in Public Policy with a focus on Anthropology and Social Sciences, and M.Tech courses in Semiconductor Materials Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Robotics.

The institute said the courses have been designed to align with evolving global industry demands and to equip students with specialised skills in high-growth sectors.

Director V Kamakoti said the institute is undertaking multiple initiatives to meet the country's industrial requirements.

“As part of these efforts, four new master's degree programmes have been introduced across key domains to create a skilled workforce,” he said.

The programmes are expected to strengthen interdisciplinary learning and enhance research and innovation in advanced technology areas, the institute added.
