Chennai: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, in collaboration with Sony India Software Centre, is launching a free training program for engineering students in disciplines like AI/ML, Product Security, and Computer Graphics. The program, commencing in January 2024, aims to provide industry-ready skills. Eligible students can apply by January 10, 2024, through the link - https://sonyfs.pravartak.org.in/registration. The initiative, funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, addresses the gap between graduate knowledge and industry demands. The eligibility criteria include an engineering degree in ECE, CSE & EEE with a minimum 60% aggregate for those who graduated in 2021-2022, and 2022-23. Stipends will be offered based on fixed criteria, and the selection process includes academic performance, parental income, and an entrance exam. The program, limited to 30 students, concludes with Sony India hiring top performers, while IITM Pravartak facilitates placement for the remaining students in other companies.
