IIT-Patna student dies after electrocution on campus

Patna: A fourth-year BTech student died after allegedly coming in contact with an electric pole while playing cricket on the Indian Institute of Technology Patna campus on Saturday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Harshit Raj, a resident of Chandanagar in Telangana.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 6 am when the student reportedly suffered an electric shock while playing cricket. He collapsed on the campus and was immediately rushed to Netaji Subhash Medical College, where doctors declared him dead.
IIT-Patna Security In-charge Deepak Kumar Chaurasia informed the police about the incident, officials said.
SDPO (Danapur-2) Amrendra Kumar Jha said the student's family had been informed by both the Amhara police station and the institute administration.
Further details are awaited, and police said necessary procedures are being followed.
