Chennai: The Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET), functioning under the Union Ministry of Fisheries, has invited applications for its two-year vocational courses in shipbuilding and navigation.

The last date to apply is June 16.

The programmes — Marine Fitter Course (MFC) and Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) — are offered at CIFNET's training centres in Chennai, Cochin, and Visakhapatnam.

Eligible candidates must have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 40% marks in Science and Mathematics, and fall within the 15-20 years age group.

The application fee is ₹350 for General and OBC categories and ₹175 for SC/ST candidates. A monthly stipend of ₹1,500 is provided to trainees.

The entrance examination will be held on July 5, and results will be declared on July 14.
