Chennai: Kauvery Hospital, Radial Road, on Thursday announced the launch of specialised clinics for neurology and brain and spine surgery, along with an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven stroke care service aimed at improving early diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

The initiative is part of the Kauvery Institute of Brain and Spine (KIBS), which brings together neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, psychologists, and rehabilitation experts under an integrated care model. Led by senior neurosurgeon Dr. K Sridhar, the clinics will address conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, migraines, facial pain, and spine deformities.

Highlighting the role of AI, the hospital said its hub-and-spoke model for stroke care would enable faster detection and treatment, potentially reducing response times by 25 per cent and increasing early life-saving interventions sixfold. “Launching these specialised clinics is a milestone in our efforts to provide international standards of care through technology and interdisciplinary expertise,” said Dr. Sridhar.

The hospital has equipped the clinics with advanced diagnostic tools such as digital video EEG, high-resolution MRI and CT imaging, and intraoperative neuronavigation. It will also offer minimally invasive brain and spine surgeries, deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, and advanced therapies for drug-resistant epilepsy.

The specialised clinics will also serve as centres for research and training, supporting Kauvery's vision to blend clinical excellence with innovation, the hospital said.
