Bengaluru: Rithika S K, a student of KCG College of Technology, has won the national title at the 9th edition of the IET India Scholarship Award for her solar-powered healthcare kiosk solution, organisers said.

The award, instituted by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), is among the country's most prestigious honours for undergraduate engineers. Rithika emerged winner from 43,971 applicants nationwide after a multi-stage evaluation assessing academic excellence, innovation, leadership and social impact.

Her project, a solar-powered healthcare kiosk, won the national finals held in December. As the national winner, she received a scholarship of ₹3 lakh along with complimentary IET membership.

Vansika Jhawar of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology was named first runner-up, while Khushi Malhotra from SRM University AP secured second runner-up position. A total of ₹10 lakh in scholarship prize money was awarded this year.

The 2025 edition marked a milestone, with all five national finalists being women, organisers said.
