Puducherry: Bharatiyar University is pleased to announce the launch of new degree programs in music and dance.
According to a press release issued by the Chancellor of Bharatiyar University said , "the university houses three departments: Fine Arts, Music, and Dance.
Since 2003, the university has offered degree courses in Nathaswaram and Thavil, along with evening classes.
Starting from the 2024-25 academic year, Bharatiyar University will expand its offerings to include degree programs in Nathaswaram, Thavil, and Flute.
Students who have completed their 10th-grade education are eligible to enroll in these programs.
In addition, the university is introducing diploma courses in Veena, Violin, Mridhangam, and other percussion instruments, as well as Bharatanatyam in dance. Graduates in dance can also pursue a one-year postgraduate diploma course in Natuvaangam.
Evening Classes:
Bharatiyar University will also offer six-month certificate training programs in various categories such as Bharatanatyam, Painting, Color Painting, Fabric Color Painting, and Sand Sculpture. These evening classes will be conducted at Bharathiar University Hall, with first-session classes starting at 5:30 PM, and second and third-session classes starting at 7:00 PM.
Application forms can be obtained from Bharatiyar University for a fee of 100 rupees. Completed applications must be submitted by the end of this month.
