LTM partners IIT Kharagpur to train workforce in artificial intelligence

Kolkata: Larsen & Toubro Technology Services (LTM), a group company of Larsen & Toubro, has partnered with Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur to develop specialised training programmes aimed at enhancing workforce skills in artificial intelligence and related technologies.
The collaboration will combine LTM's industry expertise with the institute's academic and research strengths to build future-ready capabilities in AI through targeted learning programmes, hands-on workshops and collaborative research initiatives, the company said in a statement.
The initiative is aimed at systematically upskilling and reskilling employees to meet evolving industry requirements and client demands in a rapidly changing technology landscape.
“Continuous skill development is essential to ensure our workforce remains relevant, resilient and prepared to operate effectively in an AI-driven environment,” said Gururaj Deshpande, Chief Delivery Officer at Larsen & Toubro Technology Services.
Niloy Ganguly, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, said the partnership would help extend the institute's academic expertise into industry-relevant applications.
He added that the institute looks forward to working closely with the company to design meaningful learning programmes and research opportunities in artificial intelligence and allied domains.
