Chennai: Tamil Nadu's Higher Education Minister Kovi Chezhiyan inaugurated the online portal for admissions to engineering, arts and science, and polytechnic courses across the state at a ceremony held at Anna University, Guindy, recently.

Candidates seeking admission to government-allotted seats in government engineering colleges, Anna University campus colleges, Annamalai University colleges, and self-financing institutions can apply through the website www.tneaonline.org until June 6. The application fee is set at Rs. 500 for the general category and Rs. 250 for the scheduled category. Original certificates must be uploaded by June 9, with verification scheduled from June 10-20. The equal opportunity number will be assigned on June 11, and the final rank list will be published on June 27. A window to address any discrepancies will be open from June 28 to July 2.

New Courses and Opportunities
This year, new courses in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and Data Science have been introduced at government engineering colleges, alongside courses in Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, and Industrial Biotechnology. These additions will accommodate 720 new students.

Polytechnic Admissions
The application process for 57 polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu is available at https://tnpoly.in/, with 110 service centers supporting 13 government polytechnic colleges. Five new courses have been introduced, offering opportunities to 360 students. A new polytechnic college in Thiruvotriyur also commenced admissions this year.

Arts and Science Colleges
Admissions for 165 government arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu can be accessed via https://www.tngasa.in/. New colleges in Coonoor, Natham, Alandur, Vikravandi, Seyyur, Manamadurai, Kolakkanatham, Ottapidaram, Muthupettai, and Thiruvidaimarudur are also part of the expansion, providing 1.25 lakh students the chance to study 159 diverse courses.

The event was attended by Higher Education Secretary Samayamoorthy, College Education Commissioner Sundaravalli, Technical Education Commissioner Innocent Divya, and Engineering Admissions Secretary Purushothaman, among others.
