Chennai: The National Tamil Science Conference (NTSC-2026), jointly organised by Arivial Sangam and CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre, concluded on Friday after two days of deliberations under the theme “Sustainable Development through Science and Technology.”

The event was held at the CSIR campus in Taramani and featured plenary lectures, invited talks and scientific paper presentations, promoting Tamil as a medium for scientific communication.

The conference was inaugurated by Prof Usha Natesan of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research and presided over by Dr N Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC.

Experts from leading institutions including Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Anna University and National Institute of Ocean Technology delivered keynote addresses.

A total of 192 abstracts were submitted, with around 500 participants, including researchers, faculty and students, taking part. The valedictory function was addressed by Prof M Krishnan of Central University of Tamil Nadu.
