New Delhi: The application window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET‑UG) 2026 will close on March 8, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said, advising candidates to complete the registration process before the deadline through the official portal.

The entrance examination for undergraduate medical courses will be conducted on May 3, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5 pm at centres across the country.

According to the NTA, candidates will be able to edit their submitted application forms during the correction window from March 10 to March 12 through the official website.

The city intimation slip and admit cards will be issued later on the NTA portal.

The NEET-UG is conducted as a common national-level entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical programmes in institutions across India. Scores obtained in the exam are used for admission to MBBS, BDS and BVSc & AH courses, as per the regulations of the respective authorities.

The examination also serves as the qualifying test for undergraduate programmes in Indian systems of medicine, including BAMS, BUMS, BSMS and BHMS, under the relevant national commissions.

Candidates seeking admission to the BSc Nursing programme under the Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Armed Forces Medical Service hospitals must also qualify for NEET-UG, as the score will be used in the selection process.

The application fee for the exam is Rs 1,700 for the general category, Rs 1,600 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, and Rs 1,000 for SC, ST, PwBD and third gender applicants. Candidates applying from outside India must pay Rs 9,500. Additional processing charges and GST will be applicable.

The exam will be conducted in 13 languages — Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Candidates must submit the application form only through the online mode and upload the required documents, including a recent passport-size photograph and scanned signature. The NTA has advised applicants to verify all details carefully before final submission, as only one application form is permitted per candidate.

For further details, candidates can refer to the information bulletin available on the NEET website or contact the NTA helpdesk.

They may also contact the NTA helpdesk at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700, or email neetug2026@nta.ac.in for assistance.
