Chennai: The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) jointly organized an awareness workshop on the “Trade Enablement & Marketing (TEAM) Initiative through ONDC platform” to empower MSMEs in Tamil Nadu.

The workshop, held as part of NSIC's 70th-anniversary celebrations, provided insights into leveraging digital commerce for business growth.

Industry experts highlighted strategies for improving operational efficiency, supply chain management, and expanding market reach through ONDC.

Sreevatsan, Senior General Manager, NSIC, emphasized the role of logistics and supply chain management in MSME growth. He stated, “Efficient logistics are crucial for MSME success, ensuring smooth operations and competitiveness.” He further outlined NSIC's goal to support five lakh MSMEs in the next three years, with a focus on onboarding 50% women entrepreneurs.

TANSTIA President C.K. Mohan called ONDC a “game changer” that enables MSMEs to compete globally. “Digital marketing is essential for MSMEs today. Such awareness programs enhance skills, business strategies, and market exposure,” he added.

S. Suresh Babu IEDS, Joint Director, MSME-DFO, highlighted government support through NSIC's Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS), providing MSMEs access to procurement benefits, credit support, and export opportunities.

Entrepreneurs were encouraged to register on msme.gov.in for comprehensive support, including financial aid, technology access, and market development initiatives.
