New Delhi: Smartphone maker OPPO is set to introduce a compact handset in its popular Reno series with the proposed launch of the Reno15 Pro Mini, industry sources said.

According to people familiar with the development, the Reno15 Pro Mini will be the first compact smartphone under the Reno lineup, marking a shift as demand for smaller, easy-to-handle phones makes a comeback. The India launch timeline for the Reno15 series is yet to be officially announced.

The device is expected to feature a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with slim bezels, placing it in the compact category by current standards. It is likely to weigh around 187 grams, measure 7.99 mm in thickness and sport narrow 1.6 mm bezels. Sources said the phone would retain the premium design language associated with the Reno series.

The Reno15 Pro Mini is expected to be offered in a Glacier White colour option with a distinctive ribbon-style design on the glass back. In terms of durability, the handset is tipped to come with IP66, IP67 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

While detailed specifications remain undisclosed, the device is expected to adopt a region-specific hardware strategy. Reports suggest global variants could be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, unlike the China models that use MediaTek processors.

OPPO's move reflects a broader industry trend toward compact smartphones after years of larger form factors dominating the market.
