Chennai: The Directorate of Government Examinations announced that the Tamil Language Literary Aptitude Test for the academic year 2025-2026 will be conducted on Saturday (October 11) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at 950 examination centres across Tamil Nadu.

A total of 2,70,508 first-year higher secondary students are set to appear for the examination, which aims to identify and encourage literary talent among Tamil students.

According to the Directorate, 1,500 students securing the highest marks in the test will be selected for a monthly scholarship of ₹1,500 each, to be awarded for two years through the Directorate of School Education.

Of the total selected students, 50 per cent will be from government schools, while the remaining 50 per cent will comprise students from both government-aided and private institutions, said the Director, Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu.
