New Delhi: Around 82,940 candidates have registered for undergraduate admissions to the University of Delhi (DU) for the 2026-27 academic session through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) as of Tuesday evening, university officials said.

The first phase of the registration process commenced on June 26 for candidates who appeared in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 and are seeking admission to the university's undergraduate programmes.

Admissions will be conducted for 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 combinations under the Bachelor of Arts programme across 67 colleges solely on the basis of CUET-UG 2026 scores, subject to programme-specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.

Candidates are required to register on the CSAS portal using their CUET-UG 2026 application number.

As part of a new initiative, key details of candidates, including their name, date of birth, photograph and signature, have been automatically integrated through the Government of India's API Setu platform to minimise data-entry errors and strengthen the security of the admission process, officials said.

After the completion of the first phase, candidates will participate in the second phase of the admission process by submitting their preferences for programme and college combinations.

During the second phase, applicants will also be required to map their CUET-UG test papers with the subjects studied in Class 12.

The university said only the language and domain-specific CUET papers corresponding to subjects passed by candidates in Class 12 would be considered for determining programme-specific eligibility and calculating admission scores.

Based on the subject mapping, the university will determine the eligibility of candidates before inviting them to fill their programme and college preferences.

The schedule for the second phase of the CSAS admission process is expected to be announced later this week, officials added.
