Coimbatore: Several students in Pollachi and Udumalpet said the Class 12 English public examination held on Wednesday was easy and largely based on the textbook.

Students who appeared for the examination said most of the one-mark questions were straightforward, while questions in other sections were familiar as they were drawn from the prescribed syllabus.

Sadhana of RKR Grix Higher Secondary School in Udumalpet said the one-mark and grammar questions were simple and could be answered easily.

Maithili of Rajalakshmi Kengusamy Higher Secondary School, Pethappampatti, said the question paper was easy and she expected to score high marks.

Raghavi of JSR Higher Secondary School, Madathukulam, said some questions required a little thinking but most sections were manageable.

Other students, including Shabreen of Sri GVG Visalakshi Higher Secondary School and Naveen Raj of Oxford Higher Secondary School, said the exam was largely based on textbook exercises and practice questions taught in class.

Many students expressed confidence of securing high marks in the subject.
