New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated India's space scientists and engineers on the successful launch of the LVM3-M6 mission, which placed the US spacecraft BlueBird Block-2—the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil—into its intended orbit.
In a post on X, Modi described the mission as a proud milestone in India's space journey, saying it strengthened the country's heavy-lift launch capability and reinforced its growing role in the global commercial launch market. He said the achievement reflected India's commitment towards building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Highlighting the significance of the LVM3's reliable performance, the Prime Minister said it would lay a strong foundation for future missions such as Gaganyaan, expand commercial launch services and deepen global partnerships.
“Powered by India's youth, our space programme is getting more advanced and impactful,” Modi said, adding that the enhanced capability would benefit future generations and help India scale greater heights in the space sector.
