Puducherry: Puducherry University has extended the deadline to June 10, 2025, for online applications to its one-year free residential training programme aimed at preparing differently-abled candidates for competitive examinations.

The initiative is jointly organised by the university and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Eligible candidates must be graduates aged between 20 and 41 years with a benchmark disability (40% or more) as per the 21 categories listed in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Applicants whose annual family income is below ₹8 lakh will also receive a monthly incentive during the course.

This initiative aims to create equal opportunities and enhance the representation of persons with disabilities in civil services and other public sector roles.
