Chandigarh: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has finalised an entrepreneurship curriculum for Class 12, aiming to inspire innovation, self-reliance, and job creation among students, officials said on Thursday.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the curriculum completes a two-year educational pathway, building on the success of the 'Business Blaster' programme introduced for Class 11 in 2022-23. The initiative will make entrepreneurship a compulsory subject across 3,692 senior secondary schools, with 10,382 teachers and 231 master trainers already trained through 104 programmes.

With textbooks and curriculum ready ahead of schedule, around 5.60 lakh students will study entrepreneurship uninterrupted in the 2026-27 academic year. The comprehensive curriculum covers startup challenges, legal procedures, finance, budgeting, and other essential skills, equipping students to transform ideas into viable ventures and become future job creators.

Bains said the initiative fulfils a key promise of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led government to prepare students in government and recognised schools for self-employment, startups, and entrepreneurship, supporting the state's economic development.
