Chennai: Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) has signed a partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), USA, through the Cintana Alliance, to broaden access to international education for Indian students. The collaboration was announced at a high-impact academic engagement event held at REC's Chennai campus.

The event witnessed participation from institutional leaders, students, parents, and school counselors, and aimed to highlight future-ready global learning opportunities. A key feature was a session on 0.5+1 MS programs, designed to facilitate international academic mobility with credit transfers and joint faculty support.

Dr. Chris Johnson, Senior Director and Head of Global Partnership Development at ASU, delivered the keynote address, “Unlocking the American Dream: Navigating Challenges, Seizing Opportunities”, offering insights into the U.S. higher education landscape. His address inspired students and educators to embrace global academic aspirations.

On-the-spot academic assessments and personalized career counseling sessions further added value, helping students map their academic futures through the REC-ASU collaboration.

The event concluded with remarks by Mr. Abhay Meganathan, Vice Chairman of the Rajalakshmi Group, Dr. Chris Johnson, and Mr. Chaitanya Chitta, Regional Head - India & South Asia, Cintana Education. U.S. Consul General Mr. Chris Hodges also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of international partnerships in shaping globally competent graduates.

Mr. Meganathan said the partnership is a transformational step toward internationalization, while Dr. Johnson noted the collaboration was about "building academic bridges" for Indian students.
