Bengaluru: Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu, emerged as the winner of the 13th edition of Quest Global Ingenium, a national-level engineering innovation contest organised by global product engineering services firm Quest Global. The grand finale took place at Courtyard by Marriott, Bellandur.

The winning team impressed the jury with a project that translates Indian Sign Language (ISL) gestures into real-time text and speech in multiple Indian languages. The solution aims to bridge the communication gap for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The team was awarded a cash prize of ₹2 lakh and an educational visit to Quest Global's engineering facility in Singapore for first-hand exposure to advanced technologies.

Out of 4,341 students across 30 universities, 2,878 teams registered for the competition. The first runner-up title went to Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Kerala, for their low-cost robotic exoskeleton designed for walking therapy. The Manipal Institute of Technology, Karnataka, secured the second runner-up position for developing a secure drone system for defence applications.

Quest Global COO Lux Ramalingam said the competition is focused on empowering the country's top young engineering talent to address real-world challenges. “Investing in these bright minds is crucial for driving innovation and shaping the industry's future,” he said.

Institutions including VSB Engineering College, Karur, and Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Karnataka, made significant contributions in terms of the number of entries submitted.

The finale also featured a keynote by Nimish Mehra, Co-founder of Fupro and an Ingenium alumnus, who inspired participants with insights from his innovation journey.

Quest Global's Ingenium continues to serve as a launchpad for aspiring engineers, fostering creativity and practical problem-solving across India.
