Chennai: TDK Corporation is partnering with the Gopalakrishnan-Deshpande Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (GDC) at IIT Madras to launch the 'TIIC Accelerator Program 2024'. This initiative aims to foster innovation in Healthcare Technology and Diagnostics from Indian STEM researchers and startups.
Key Highlights:
Partnership Significance: Michael Pocsatko, TDK's Senior VP, emphasized the partnership as a step towards contributing to India's growth and innovation.
Collaborative Opportunity: Prof. Krishnan Balasubramanian of IIT Madras highlighted the potential to support innovative healthcare startups by combining TDK's industry experience with GDC's technical expertise.
Program Goals: TDK aims to leverage India's talent to drive advancements in healthcare diagnostics and medical devices, providing mentorship, support, and investment opportunities.
Application Process: The program starts with a call for applications in June 2024, followed by an in-person workshop and a 6-8 week boot camp. Selected teams will receive business mentorship to prepare for pitching to TDK for investments.
Target Sectors:
Diagnostic labs and services
Imaging, therapeutic, sensing, recording, and surgical devices (excluding implants)
Consumables and advanced materials for diagnostics
Equipment-related services, wearables, analytics
Technologies like Sensors, IoT, 5G, AI/ML, 3D printing, telemedicine, robotics, AR/VR, and neuroelectronic interfaces.
