New Delhi: At least three schools in the national capital received bomb threat emails on Thursday morning, prompting evacuation of students and staff and intensive searches by emergency agencies, officials said.
An official of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said alerts were received regarding threats sent to CRPF Public School and St Thomas School in Dwarka, and DAV Centenary Public School.
Fire tenders and rescue teams were rushed to the schools as a precautionary measure. Police teams, bomb disposal squads and dog squads were also deployed at the premises.
School authorities evacuated students and staff while search operations were carried out. No suspicious object was found during preliminary checks, officials said, adding that thorough sanitisation of the campuses was underway.
Police said cyber teams have been alerted to trace the origin of the emails. The messages are being examined to ascertain their source and authenticity, and officials are verifying if similar threats were sent to other institutions.
Further investigation is in progress, police added.
