Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned the establishment of 13 new primary schools and the upgradation of four existing primary schools to middle schools across various districts, in line with the announcements made in the State Budget.

According to a government order, the new primary schools will be opened in Paliyapattu (Tiruvannamalai district); Kupsur and Chinna Ettupatti (Vellore); Kadur and Kattur (Krishnagiri); Udayarajapalayam (Tirupattur); Chettikulam (Madurai); Ilandhirai Kondan and M. Sokkalingapuram (Virudhunagar); Dethakudi (Nagapattinam); Aurikkadu (Namakkal); Kavur (Kanchipuram); and Periyar Nagar in the 31st ward of Avadi Corporation (Thiruvallur).

Further, the government has approved the upgradation of primary schools at Gundurani and Chinna Allapuram in Vellore district, Kannikapuram in Villupuram district, and Tata Nagar in Nagapattinam district into middle schools.

The order also includes the sanction of necessary funds and teaching posts to support the establishment and functioning of these institutions.
