Chennai: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Chennai, has announced that the Tamil Nadu Rural Students Talent Search Exam (TRUST) for the academic year 2025-26 will be conducted on November 29, 2025 (Saturday).

The examination, which has been held annually since 1991-92, is open to students studying in Class IX in government-recognised schools located in rural Gram Panchayat and towns of Tamil Nadu, excluding Chennai district.

According to the Directorate, 50 boys and 50 girls from each educational district will be selected based on their performance in the test. Selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹1,000 per year for four years to support their continuing education.

Eligible students can download the application forms from the DGE's official website www.dge.tn.gov.in between October 28 and November 4, 2025. The filled-in applications, along with an examination fee of ₹10, must be submitted to the respective school heads by November 4, 2025.

The Directorate urged schools in rural areas to ensure wide dissemination of the notification to eligible students so that they can avail of this opportunity.
