Mumbai: Universal SkillTech University (USTU), a new private university established by the Vidya Vikas Education Trust, has opened admissions for the academic year 2025-26.

Located in Vasai on the outskirts of Mumbai, USTU promises a new-age educational approach focused on skill development, industry exposure, and employment outcomes.

USTU offers undergraduate programs in engineering, business, psychology, media, and design, and integrates real-world projects and work experience into its academic structure from the first year.

The institution emphasizes employability over traditional rote learning, according to university officials.

“Our programs are designed not just for academic excellence, but for real-world impact,” said Dr R Kamatchi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, USTU. “We're committed to outcomes that matter—skills, experience, and career success.”

The university has partnered with byteXL to launch a dedicated Career Accelerator for students pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science. The accelerator offers project-based learning, industry mentorship, internships, and certifications in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Courses at USTU include:

B.Tech in Computer Science, AI & ML, Cybersecurity, IT, and Data Science (with lateral entry options)
BBA in Supply Chain & Logistics, Finance, and Digital Marketing
B.Sc. in Computer Science & Economics, and Psychology

The curriculum also features foundational training in leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence. Students can opt for minors in Liberal Arts, Management, and Psychology.

In a move to enhance access and inclusion, USTU is offering up to 100% scholarships for eligible students from disadvantaged and minority backgrounds, including Gujarati linguistic minority girls. Additional support includes zero-interest EMI plans and need-based financial aid.
