Mysuru: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Sunday urged graduating students to contribute with knowledge, humility, and dedication towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, while addressing the 16th Convocation Ceremony of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) in Mysuru.

In his convocation address, the Vice-President emphasized the importance of perseverance and self-discipline, quoting Swami Vivekananda's exhortation to “Arise, Awake, and Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached.” He said consistency was the key to success and encouraged students to recognize their unique potential and pursue goals aligned with their individual strengths.

Highlighting Karnataka's cultural richness and Kannada's recognition as a classical language, Shri Radhakrishnan lauded the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for promoting flexibility and interdisciplinary learning, which he said empower students to adapt and excel in a changing world.

He also urged students to use social media responsibly and maintain balance between online engagement and real-life responsibilities, while showing respect to parents and embracing positive traits from others.

“A true graduate must carry the light of wisdom and inspire future generations,” he said, adding that “knowledge is the real wealth.”

A total of 2,925 students received degrees, diplomas, and fellowships at the ceremony, while 16 gold medallists were felicitated by the Vice-President.

The event was attended by Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, JSS AHER Chancellor Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, and former Supreme Court judge Justice Shivaraj V. Patil, among other dignitaries.
