Chennai: The Department of Posts will conduct a walk-in interview on October 23, 2025, for the selection of Direct Agents to promote Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) schemes among the public.

The initiative aims to strengthen the reach of postal insurance services by engaging youth, self-employed individuals, retired government employees, and persons with disabilities to spread awareness and boost enrolment under PLI and RPLI.

The interview will be held at Annanagar Sub Post Office, located near the Annanagar Tower Metro Station in Chennai, at 3 PM on October 23.

According to an official release, candidates must have passed at least the 10th standard and be 18 years of age or above to be eligible for consideration.

Applicants attending the interview should carry three passport-sized photographs, along with the originals and two copies of their age proof, address proof, and educational qualification certificates.

The Department of Posts has been introducing several new initiatives to expand the reach of postal insurance schemes and make them more accessible to the public. The engagement of direct agents is expected to further enhance awareness and increase policy coverage, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
