Gaborone : Shri Valli Theivanai Kalyana Utsavam with Lord Muruga was celebrated in grand manner at Balaji Temple, Gaborone, Botswana on 21st Nov 2020.


The Balaji Temple in Gaborone, Botswana was built by Botswana Hindu Charitable Trust in 2007. Here, Lord Balaji blesses the devotees as the main deity. The temple also houses Sree Padmavathi, Aandal, Iyyappan, Lord Muruga with Valli and Theivanai, Lord Shiva, Shri Vaishono Devi, Sri Vinayagar, Sri Anjaneyar and Nava Grahas. Throughout the year, all major hindu festivals and poojas are celebrated here in a grand manner.


As usual, Shri Skantha Shasti was celebrated here for 6 days starting from 15th Nov to 20th Nov. On 20th the function was ended with Soora Samharam. On Sat 21st, Valli Theivanai Kalayanam was also celebrated very well. Though Botswana was not affected very much by COVID-19 virus, the Govt has implemented strict rules for gatherings in public places like temples and churches. Therefore, only a limited number of devotees participated in the Kalyanam. However, the event was wonderfully celebrated and mesmerised the devotees. The function started around 10.30AM and ended at 14:00hrs. All devotees witnessed the full Kalyanam programme with happiness from the beginning. At the end Lord Muruga along with Valli and Theivanai showered all devotees with His best blessings.
