The Silver Jubilee Reunion of the alumni of Pondicherry College of Engineering, who joined in 1996 and obtained their bachelor's degree in 2000, was held on the 26th at the University Auditorium. At this event, more than 140 alumni gathered with their families and honored their teachers and non-teaching staff with mementos.
It is noteworthy that many of the students who studied here in the last 25 years are self-employed, hold high positions in international organizations, professors, government employees and capable family heads.
After a minute of silence was observed for the students, professors and staff who died naturally and untimely, the Secretary of the Festival Committee, Bhaskar, delivered the welcome address.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, S. Mohan explained the development works of the university and advised the participating engineers on how mutual love and respect for others are essential for a peaceful life.
Director of Education Vivekanandan, Former Student Council President Shanthi Baskaran, Registrar (In-charge) Sundaramoorthy and Head of the Department of Electronics Ilancheralathan among others congratulated the alumni who participated in the function.
Professors Ethirajulu Prithiviraj and Kothandaraman, who served as former principals of the college and retired, who were present as special guests at the meeting, recalled and shared the development works carried out during their tenure. In conclusion, Professor Revathi delivered the vote of thanks.
It is noteworthy that the alumni who participated in the ceremony have passed a resolution to install purified drinking water facilities, laboratory equipment, educational grants and special lectures by experts for the students to commemorate this silver jubilee as a token of gratitude to this educational institution for its contribution to their well-being.
The ceremony committee including Sriram, Sathyan, Satish, who had made excellent arrangements for the event, presented T-shirts and 3D printed models of the university entrance as souvenirs to all the college friends who participated in the ceremony. Alumna Professor Revathi delivered the vote of thanks.
