Sangat Mochan Hanuman Temple was founded and built by Shri Baba Haridas and his students as a place of devotion and peace. In 2001, some of Babaji's long-time students brought a Hanuman idol from India. 'When Babaji saw the idol, he said, 'It needs a temple.'' He immediately went to the Mount Madonna area and identified a site for the temple. Construction work began immediately and the Prana Pratishtha ceremony was held in 2003.
Located on the grounds of the Mount Madonna Center, the temple hosts aarti services twice daily, Sindoor Puja and Chalisa recitation ceremonies every Tuesday before the full moon, as well as other traditional Hindu festivals, music and dance performances, and yoga classes.
The temple is open on Saturdays - 11 am to 7 pm, and on Tuesdays - 4 pm to 7 pm.
Reservations
Reservations must be made online the week before the day of visit. Unreserved visits are allowed only for the morning aarti (6 am to 7:30 am) on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Reservations for Saturdays are released the previous Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Reservations for Tuesday are released on the previous Thursday, Saturday and Monday.
Those who have booked a temple visit can have darshan of Lord Hanuman for up to 2 hours. Visitors can visit the temple grounds and OM Park. They can enjoy snacks including chai and samosas at Anjaneyas World Cafe. And shop at Oceanview Book and Gift Store.
Reservations are required for overnight stays at Mount Madonna Center or for attending yoga or meditation retreats.
