The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is an autonomous institution established under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to cater to the country's scientific needs and address emerging technological challenges in society.

The campuses of this institution are located in seven cities: Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.

B.S.-M.S. (Dual Degree) - 5 years

In addition, the Kolkata campus offers a 5-year B.S.-M.S. in Computational and Data Science, while the Mohali campus offers the regular 5-year B.S.-M.S. programme as a core course. The Tirupati campus offers a 4-year B.S. in Economics and Statistics.

The Bhopal campus offers a 4-year B.S. in Economics and 4-year B.Tech. programmes in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Data Science and Engineering.

Curriculum: In general, during the first two years of the 5-year B.S.-M.S. programme, students are taught foundational courses in core science disciplines. In the third and fourth years, students may choose a major in a science subject of their interest. The fifth year is dedicated to full-time scientific and technological research.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Plus Two with science subjects and secured at least 60 per cent marks. SC, ST and PwD candidates must have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks. For certain courses, Mathematics is mandatory.

Admission Procedure: Admission is based on the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) score conducted by IISER.
