A strong academic foundation is essential not only for success in examinations but also for lifelong learning and personal growth.
To develop a deep understanding of every subject, students should regularly practice by taking a large number of assessments—around 200 tests, including weekly tests, sectional exams, and comprehensive examinations. Frequent testing promotes conceptual clarity, reduces reliance on rote memorisation, and helps students write examinations with greater accuracy and confidence.
Learning from Failure
Equally important is cultivating the right mindset toward failure. Students should view setbacks as opportunities to learn and improve.
Many children grow up believing they must excel in everything. As a result, poor performance in an examination often leads to negativity, disappointment, and stress. Instead, students should learn to analyse what an exam result reveals about their preparation, identify areas for improvement, and move forward constructively.
Stress-management techniques such as breathing exercises and maintaining study notes can be beneficial. Parents, too, play a crucial role by understanding their children's aspirations, interests, and individual learning preferences.
Creating Awareness on AI
There is also a need to create awareness among students, teachers, and parents about the appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. For example, students preparing for examinations can use AI tools to analyse topics, identify key concepts, and anticipate possible questions.
The National Education Policy's emphasis on holistic education, rather than marks alone, is a positive step. Initiatives such as mother-tongue instruction, life-skills education, robotics laboratories, and compulsory yoga contribute to all-round development.
AI Cannot Replace Human Creativity
Despite its growing capabilities, Artificial Intelligence cannot surpass human intelligence, creativity, and critical thinking.
