The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to international students who wish to pursue postgraduate or doctoral studies at Japanese universities.
Courses:
This scholarship is available for students enrolling in both regular and non-regular programs across a wide range of fields, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, and pharmaceutical sciences.
Eligibility:
Educational qualifications vary depending on the course chosen. Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1992. They should have a willingness to learn the Japanese language. Physical fitness is also an important criterion, and candidates must submit a medical certificate confirming both physical and mental health from a qualified doctor.
Scholarship Details:
The Japanese government waives entrance examination fees, admission fees, and tuition fees. Travel expenses are also covered.
Non-regular students: 143,000 yen per month
Regular master's or professional degree students: 144,000 yen per month
Regular doctoral students: 145,000 yen per month
Additionally, a monthly stipend of 2,000 yen or 3,000 yen is provided depending on the course and field of study.
