Puducherry: In a recent update, Puducherry Technological University(PTU), reported that 171 B.Tech seats remain unfilled after the JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling.
These vacancies will be made available for students applying through CENTAC (Centralized Admission Committee), provided they have appeared for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination).
The prestigious institution, which has recently been elevated to the status of a Technological University, continues to be a competitive choice for students.
However, despite the high demand, only 171 out of 317 seats have been filled through JOSAA this year, leaving 146 seats vacant.
Of the 146 available seats, courses such as Civil Engineering (45 seats), Mechanical Engineering (39 seats), Electronics and Communication Engineering (25 seats), and Computer Science (23 seats) have the most vacancies.
There are also slots in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, and other branches.
CENTAC will fill these vacancies in its third phase of counseling, and students should have given their course preferences by 2:00 PM today via their CENTAC portal.
Priority will be given based on JEE scores, and if seats remain, admissions will be offered based on Plus 2 marks.
With 55% of seats already filled, students are encouraged to act quickly to secure a place in one of India's top engineering institutions.
