Chennai: Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh has called for the suspension of online classes in districts affected by heavy rains, citing potential technical challenges for students.

Amid ongoing heavy rains across various districts in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai and Kanchipuram, Education Minister Anbil Mahesh has requested school managements to delay online classes.

The announcement comes as several districts have declared a one-day holiday for schools due to the downpour, with Coimbatore granting a half-day leave.

In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Minister explained that adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain and strong winds, could create technical difficulties for students attempting to attend online classes.

He urged schools in affected areas to totally suspend online sessions until the weather stabilizes.

Minister Anbil Mahesh emphasized the importance of ensuring that students are not further burdened during these extreme weather conditions and called for flexibility in online learning schedules.
