Chennai: IIT Madras will host the 26th edition of Shaastra, its annual tech festival, from January 3-7, 2025.
Organized by over 750 students, Shaastra is one of India's largest student-run technical festivals, featuring 80 events, 130 stalls, and an anticipated 70,000 attendees.
Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, emphasized Shaastra's role in fostering management skills and collaboration among students. Partnering organizations include the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), promoting innovations in ocean technologies and climate resilience.
New events include the Shaastra Aerial Robotics Challenge, RoboSoccer, Algo Trading, and the Petri-dish Challenge.
The festival will also host conferences on "Future Cities" and "Smart Manufacturing," spotlight lectures by Padma awardees, and entertainment shows featuring artists like DJ Camilla and comedian Gurleen Pannu.
Shaastra's “Institute Open House” will grant public access to IIT Madras labs, offering a vibrant platform for learning, innovation, and networking.
