Chennai: Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli marked India's 78th Independence Day on August 15, 2024, with a celebration attended by students, staff, faculty, and their families.

The event featured the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, followed by the National Anthem and a march-past.

In his address, Dr. Singh honored the Armed Forces and emphasized national unity and cultural heritage. He called for embracing the spirit of patriotism and contributing to nation-building beyond traditional roles.

The day included a felicitation for support staff, cultural performances, and a tree plantation drive, highlighting the Institute's commitment to progress and sustainability.

In another event, CUTN celebrated its 78th Independence Day with honour and fervour.

Prof. M. Krishnan praised Chancellor Prof. G. Padmanabhan for receiving the Vingyan Rathna award, highlighting CUTN's recent A+ NAAC rating and its continued position among India's top 100 institutions.

He noted improvements in CUTN's research impact and announced new initiatives, including a mental health program for police personnel and financial support for non-teaching staff.

The event also featured a march-past by NCC and security personnel, with university officials and attendees.
