Chennai: Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has appointed Michael Moebius as President and Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer, effective November 1, 2024.

He takes over from Muthu Maruthachalam C, bringing over 30 years of experience in the passenger and commercial vehicle industries globally.

Previously, Michael led Quality Management at Daimler Truck Asia in Japan, overseeing quality initiatives for Mitsubishi Fuso, DICV, PABCO, and CKD assembly locations worldwide. He played a key role in improving product quality, reducing warranty costs, and launching innovative projects like 'Proactive Sensing,' an advanced big data solution for early failure detection.

Michael, who began his career with Daimler in 1990, has held various roles at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Daimler Buses, gaining experience in Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, India, and Japan. From 2010 to 2016, he helped establish global quality standards at DICV.

Satyakam Arya, CEO of DICV, expressed confidence in Michael's ability to enhance the company's procurement and supply chain management, driving innovation and operational excellence. Michael, in turn, shared his excitement to contribute to DICV's continued growth and success.
