Puducherry: The three-day national academic conclave 'Gyan Kumbh,' organized by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas in collaboration with Pondicherry University and AICTE, kicked off in Puducherry on November 21, 2024.
The event began with a student rally at Kalapet, flagged off by Puducherry MLA P.M.L. Kalyanasundaram and Dr. Athul Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas.
The rally also raised awareness about the upcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), set for February 5-9, 2025, in New Delhi.
Puducherry Legislative Assembly Speaker R. Selvam inaugurated a Bharatiya Knowledge System Exhibition at Pondicherry University.
Institutions across South India are showcasing exhibits, with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) featuring a stall with informative videos about WAVES.
The conclave's first day included a session on 'Pancha Kosha' led by retired Professor C.J. Nandakumar from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
Over the next two days, discussions will focus on topics like integrating the Bharatiya education system, South India's contributions to Bharatiya Knowledge, Indian languages in legal education, and value-based education.
Key dignitaries, including Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, will participate in the inaugural session, while Uttarakhand Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat will attend the valedictory session.
