NIT Puducherry Celebrates 11th Convocation

Puducherry: The National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NITPY) held its 11th Convocation on September 23, 2024, at the KI RAA Auditorium.
The ceremony was led by Chief Guest K. Kailashnathan, Hon. Lt. Governor of Puducherry, who presented medals and degrees to graduates.
Notable attendees included PRN Thirumurugan, Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and other dignitaries.
In his speech, Kailashnathan stressed the importance of fostering a passion for science and technology among youth and the crucial role of education in promoting unity and integrity.
Prof. Makarand Madhao Ghangrekar, the institute's Director, congratulated graduates and highlighted NIT Puducherry's achievements, including its ranking among the top 100 engineering institutes in NIRF 2024. He noted ongoing infrastructure projects like the Composite Engineering Block and the Science Technology Innovation Hub.
A total of 297 students received their degrees, including 230 undergraduates, 42 postgraduates, and 25 research scholars.
Outstanding achievers included gold medalists Ms. Roshini Ramanathan (B.Tech. Civil Engineering), Ms. Manya K. Ravindranathan (M.Tech. Computer Science), and Ms. Desai Twinkle Sanjay (M.Sc. Mathematics).
