Chennai: Schools in Tamil Nadu, including government, government-aided, and private institutions, will observe quarterly holidays from September 28 to October 6.
During this period, special classes are strictly prohibited.
In Cuddalore district, the Chief Education Officer has issued a circular instructing school headmasters to refrain from conducting any special classes. Additionally, answer sheets are to be distributed to students only on the reopening day after the holidays.
However, no such directives have been issued by the Tamil Nadu Government School Education Department or education authorities in other districts, leaving headmasters across the state in confusion.
Teachers suggest that the Cuddalore circular is a preventive measure to avoid potential accountability for any incidents during the holidays.
They also noted that private schools often disregard such official instructions, adding to the uncertainty.
