Darbhanga: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans for a major expansion in medical education with 75,000 new seats for medical courses across India. The announcement was made during his visit to Bihar, where he laid the foundation stone for key development projects.

In Darbhanga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed that the central government aims to add 75,000 new seats to medical studies across the country. This initiative aligns with the government's decision to offer medical education in regional languages, including Hindi, making healthcare studies more accessible to a wider population.

During his visit, Modi also inaugurated the construction of Bihar's second AIIMS hospital in Darbhanga, a project estimated at Rs 1,260 crore. Additionally, he launched national highway projects worth Rs 5,070 crore, railway developments totaling Rs 1,520 crore, and further investments in the petroleum and natural gas sectors amounting to Rs 4,020 crore.

Acknowledging Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's contribution to the success of the National Democratic Alliance, Modi noted Kumar's efforts in transforming the state. In a memorable moment on stage, Chief Minister Kumar approached Modi, bowing deeply in respect, and attempted to touch his feet. Modi quickly stopped him, shook his hand, and seated him by his side, reflecting a strong camaraderie between the leaders.
