Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched 2025 with a dynamic series of initiatives that reflect his vision for a progressive, self-reliant, and united India.
Spanning infrastructure, scientific innovation, youth empowerment, and cultural celebration, his leadership has set a remarkable tone for the year.
The first cabinet meeting of 2025 emphasized farmers' welfare, extending a one-time special subsidy scheme for Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer to ensure affordability for farmers. This move underscores the government's commitment to strengthening agriculture, the backbone of India. The same day, PM Modi met cultural icons, including singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh and chess grandmaster Koneru Hampi, to promote excellence in arts, sports, and diverse fields.
On January 3, the Prime Minister handed over 1,675 new flats under Delhi's slum rehabilitation scheme, transforming the lives of thousands. He also laid the foundation for educational projects worth over ₹600 crore, such as campuses in Surajmal Vihar, Dwarka, and Najafgarh, enhancing academic infrastructure.
The Gramiya Bharat Mahakotsavam on January 4 promoted GI-certified rural products, boosting the rural economy. That day, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a $3 billion investment in AI infrastructure during a meeting with PM Modi, advancing India's technological ecosystem.
January 5 saw the inauguration of the Namo Bharat rail line connecting Sahibabad to Ashok Nagar and infrastructure projects in Odisha, Telangana, and Jammu and Kashmir. On January 7, PM Modi launched a ₹1,877-crore mega pharmaceutical park and a green hydrogen center in Andhra Pradesh, positioning India as a leader in renewable energy and pharmaceuticals.
On January 9, the Genome India project was launched to map genetic diversity and improve healthcare solutions. PM Modi addressed the Overseas Indian Day conference in Bhubaneswar, lauding the Indian diaspora's global contributions.
The Prime Minister engaged with young leaders on National Youth Day, January 12, encouraging innovation and collaboration. He inaugurated the Sonamarg tunnel on January 13, improving connectivity and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, while celebrating festivals like Lohri, Pongal, and Makara Sankranti with communities nationwide.
January 15 marked a milestone in India's defense capabilities with the induction of advanced naval ships, including submarines, strengthening maritime security. On January 16, ISRO successfully launched satellites, boosting India's space ambitions.
In just 15 days, PM Modi's initiatives—from scientific advancements to infrastructure and cultural inclusivity—showcase his vision for a developed India. “Together, we are shaping a brighter future,” he remarked, inspiring citizens to contribute to the nation's transformation.
