New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the pivotal role of minority educational institutions in advancing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 during the 20th Foundation Day celebration of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI).
Addressing the gathering, Pradhan underscored the constitutional rights of minorities as India commemorates the 75th anniversary of its Constitution. He lauded the NCMEI's contributions to fostering positive societal change through education.
Pradhan emphasized the government's efforts to uplift underprivileged communities under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" vision. Initiatives such as housing schemes, financial inclusion, gas connections, and free ration distribution have significantly improved lives, he said.
Highlighting NEP 2020 as a transformative blueprint, the Minister called on minority institutions to champion its implementation. He pointed to critical initiatives like the Academic Bank of Credits and the National Credit Framework (NCRF), alongside skill development programs, as crucial tools for realizing NEP's vision.
Pradhan envisioned India leading a 21st-century knowledge-based global economy, asserting that an inclusive society would be central to addressing global challenges. "The dream of a developed India, or Viksit Bharat, hinges on collective efforts, transcending caste and religion," he remarked.
The event also featured prominent speakers, including NCMEI Chairperson Iqbal Singh Lalpura and other community leaders. Pradhan reaffirmed the government's dedication to empowering minority communities through education and inclusion.
The celebration underscored the NCMEI's unwavering commitment to educational excellence and equitable opportunities for all.
