Pondicherry: Pondicherry University's (PU) Department of Hindi, in collaboration with the Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Education, is organizing a five-day workshop titled Hinditar Bhashi Hindi Nav Lekhak Shivir.
The event aims to nurture Hindi writing skills among non-Hindi speaking neo-writers.
The inaugural ceremony featured Professor Padmapriya, Program Coordinator, welcoming participants and emphasizing the camp's significance.
The Vice-Chancellor (in-charge), Professor Tharanikkarasu Kannan, delivered the presidential address, commending the initiative's benefits for students. Professor Clement Sagayadraj Lourdes, Director of Culture and Dean of Humanities, highlighted English fiction styles in his felicitation address.
Renowned guests, including Hindi litterateur Mr. Naresh Shandilya, poet Mr. Rakesh Dangi, and academic leaders like Professor Panch Ramalingam and Professor Jayasankar Babu, graced the event. Camp in-charge Mr. Achyut Singh introduced the Central Hindi Directorate's activities.
The sessions, led by experts from Delhi, Indore, and local scholars, will cover topics such as fiction, poetry, drama translation, and formal writing. Prominent facilitators include Dr. Nisha Sharma, journalist Shri Vinay Thakur, and Dr. Anita Singh.
The camp sees participation from 14 writers nationwide, along with 30 postgraduate students and research scholars from the Department of Hindi, fostering vibrant discussions and skill development.
