Chennai: The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai, has released the results for the first round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2024.

The admissions process, which is conducted for students aspiring to join engineering courses across the state, saw significant participation in both academic and vocational streams.

Academic Stream:
Out of 26,678 eligible candidates in the academic stream, 22,699 students filled their choices. The tentative allotments were provided to 21,408 students, out of which 6,870 received tentative allotment orders. A total of 10,890 provisional allotment orders have been issued in this stream.

Additionally, under the Government's 7.5% reservation for students from government schools, 1,406 candidates were eligible, and 1,250 filled their choices. The tentative allotments were given to 1,241 students, with 323 receiving tentative allotment orders. Provisional allotment orders were issued to 835 students in this category.

Vocational Stream:
In the vocational stream, 2,272 candidates were eligible, and 1,529 of them filled their choices. Tentative allotments were provided to 1,334 students, with 165 receiving tentative allotment orders. A total of 889 students received provisional allotment orders.

For the Government's 7.5% reservation in the vocational stream, 469 candidates were eligible, and 244 filled their choices. Tentative allotments were provided to 194 students, with 27 receiving tentative allotment orders. A total of 133 students received provisional allotment orders.

In total, 7,385 tentative allotment orders and 12,747 provisional allotment orders have been issued across all categories in this round.

Students having received provisional allotment orders were required to confirm their seats by joining the respective institutions between August 3, 2024, 10:00 AM, and August 7, 2024, 5:00 PM.
