Chennai: A total of 2.90 lakh students have registered for engineering admissions in Tamil Nadu so far, according to an official statement issued by State Higher Education Minister Kovi Chezhian.

The online registration process for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) commenced on May 7. As of 6 PM on Wednesday, 2,90,678 students had registered for admissions to various engineering colleges in the state.

Out of these, 2,32,732 candidates have completed the application process by paying the required fee. This includes 1,27,337 male and 1,05,395 female applicants.

Students who are yet to apply have been urged to complete their registration on the official website www.tneaonline.org by June 6. The last date for uploading required certificates is June 9.

To assist applicants, 110 Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Facilitation Centres have been established across the state. Students can also seek help by calling the toll-free helpline number 1800-425-0110, the release added.
